Dear BCE Families,
Happy Halloween ~ I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe Halloween weekend! I want to thank you for respecting our request to have our Halloween parade be a student only event. Because of you, your students were able to enjoy this fun event and tradition. Hopefully, next year things will be different, but for now I want to express my appreciation.
Reminder ~ Just a reminder, there will be no school for our students on Monday 11/1. It will be a Teacher Professional Development Day and our teachers will be working hard refining their practice in writing and math.
Calling all Chromebooks ~ If you borrowed a Chromebook from BCE during Distance Learning, please return the Chromebook AND the charger to the office. We need to get all our Chromebooks back for classroom use. Thank you for your cooperation and supporting technology in our classrooms.
Thank you! ~ A big THANK YOU to our BCE volunteers who organized our lost and found items. We appreciate your time, effort and hard work to support our families. If your student is missing anything, please check out the lost and found area outside the office.
We Need Your Support ~ If there is a change in who will be picking up your student, or how they are getting home, please call the office or have your student bring a note to the office. On a regular basis we are having adults come in asking to pick up a student. If we don't have communication, we often have to call the family to verify the arrangement. Additionally, we'll have students not sure how they're getting home, if they should take the bus or not being sure who's going to pick them up. One of our important jobs is to keep your students safe. We appreciate your support in this matter. Also, please, please, please check your voicemailbox isn't full!
Reminder ~ see the link below to sign your student up for weekly Covid screening and/or Covid testing in the case of positive close contact at school. Registration will give permission for both weekly and close contact testing, however if you would like to opt of weekly screening and opt in for close contact testing only, you can email our Health Clerk, Kat Gafford ([email protected]) and let her know your preference (Be sure to include your student’s name, grade and teacher.) Registration before exposure allows us to respond quickly to close contact exposures and support the health and safety of all our students.
Parents are able to opt out of weekly screenings, but opt into exposure testing only by emailing [email protected]. After you register, please send Ms. Gafford an email stating you would like to opt your student out of the weekly screening, but keep them in the exposure only screenings. Be sure to include your student’s name, grade and teacher.

Lost and Found: We have racks and buckets by the office. Please keep the area neat and tidy so no one’s belongings get wet in the rain. Anything left will be donated at the end of November. Please stop by and pick up your or your child’s coat, lunchbox, shirt, etc.
Family Dinner Night: Wednesday, Nov 17th 5-8 PM at The Saw Mill. The Saw Mill will donate 20% of sales to BCE’s 3rd Grade!

Spotlight on Volunteers Needed
Holiday Gift Drive 2021:

Due to current Covid restrictions, the BCE holiday gift giving event will look different from the Holiday Gift Shift of years past and last year's Holiday Gift Drive.
If you are interested in volunteering and helping with the planning of this event, please join the meeting. If you are unable to attend but want to volunteer, please email Dawn Harker and Elizabeth Marzili at [email protected].
Yearbook classroom volunteers are still needed
Yearbook classroom volunteers are still needed for Ms. Nunns, and Mr. Koenig to help with the classroom yearbook pages. If you want to help or have any questions email the Chief Yearbook editor at [email protected].
We Need Your Pictures! If you volunteer in the classrooms or are on campus for drop off and pickup, please snap some pics of your student and classmates and upload through the Tree Ring App to have them featured in the yearbook. This will be especially great for Halloween as no parents are allowed on campus for the parade this year.
