Dear BCE Families,
Thank you! ~ As we finish our third week of school together, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your patience and flexibility as we’ve all worked together to get this year started and build our BCE learning community. We all know the challenges that we have faced as a community over the past six months and many of us have had to deal with personal challenges as well. While there may have been bumps in the road, we appreciate your commitment to your student. We all look forward to continuing our important work together this year.
Reminder ~ Just a reminder there will be no school tomorrow for students. Our teachers will be participating in staff development.
Free Washer & Dryer Access ~ Community Bridges mobile laundry trailer will offer free access to washers and dryers to households impacted by the recent fires. The trailer will be on the BCE campus October 5th-9th and again from October 26th-30th. When you sign up, you are reserving a 2-hour block of time along with the use of 5 washers and dryers. Materials & Curriculum Distribution Day ~ Our 2nd TK-5th grade drive through Materials Pass Out Day will take place on MONDAY from 9am to 2pm. You drive to the school and immediately turn right into the lower parking lot where you will follow directions to reach our staff members handing out bags and other items.

Site Council ~ Our Site Council plays an important role at BCE. The school site council is a group of teachers, parents, classified employees, that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets.
If you are interested in serving on the Site Council for the 2020-21 school year, please complete this application and return it to Margaret Zavaroni in our office no later than Friday, October 9th.
Attendance ~ If your child is ill or will not be able to participate with their class in Distance Learning for the day, call our attendance line at 831-338-2887. Please leave a message giving us your student’s name, their teacher, and the reason for the absence. Thank you.

SLVUSD Meals. USDA has extended FREE meals to all children 18 and under, through December 31, 2020!!! We want all families to know that you are not taking meals from someone who needs it more, they are for all children. You are providing meals to your students that are comforting and familiar. Participating in the school meal program supports our Student Nutrition Program and helps sustain and grow it.

There are many ways to support our school through your everyday shopping.
Box Tops: collect by purchasing select foods either cut out and save the physical box top or get the app to collect them digitally! The program is moving towards no cutting to make it even easier to raise money for the school.
Wild Roots: we earn money with every gift card purchased from them. You may buy gift cards for your own shopping needs or give them as the perfect and practical gift!
Shutterfly: Our shutterfly storefront is http://bceparentsclub.shutterflystorefront.com/ Shutterfly donated 8% of profits of all purchases back to BCE.
Amazon Smiles: simply go to smile.amazon.com and choose Boulder Creek Elementary as your beneficiary. Then, every time you shop a small amount goes to our school. You must shop Amazon Smiles for the school to benefit from your Amazon order. It is not applicable from the phone app. This past quarter we earned $288.18!

It is a great way to stay connected, ask questions and keep informed of events and volunteer opportunities. We do not maintain a Facebook page anymore so if you are on Facebook be sure to join the group!

Estimadas familias de BCE,
¡Gracias! ~ Al terminar nuestra tercera semana de clases juntos, me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecer a todos por su paciencia y flexibilidad, ya que todos hemos trabajado juntos para comenzar este año y construir nuestra comunidad de aprendizaje BCE. Consejo de sitio ~ Nuestro consejo de sitio juega un papel importante en BCE. Comidas SLVUSD. El USDA ha extendido comidas GRATIS a todos los niños menores de 18 años hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2020.
