Dear BCE Families,

No School Tomorrow ~ Just a reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow.  Our teachers will be the students as we learn about Math Workshop from the esteemed Dr. Nikki Newton.

Appreciation ~ I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how much I’ve appreciated our BCE community during this past week.  You’ve demonstrated flexibility, perseverance, patience and positivity to your students and most importantly you’ve let them know that a community, like a family, rolls with changing and unexpected situations and makes the best of challenges.  Thank you for modeling these important life skills to our students.

Thank you ~ I want to send a BIG thank you to the Gafford family for creating another successful BCE Family Movie Night last week.  The evening was a wonderful opportunity for community building and entertainment for the whole family!

Fun! ~ I hope you had a chance to make it up to our Halloween parade.  The costumes were amazing, the kids were excited, and the power was on! It made for quite a wonderful morning.  If you plan to take your students out for Trick or Treating tonight, have fun and be safe!

Fall Back ~ Don’t forget to change your clocks this weekend.  It’s the end of daylight savings time and we get to move our clocks back and get that hour of sleep back we lost in the spring!

This is a reminder that San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District policy, as set by the Board of Trustees, declares that we are a fragrant-neutral district. As we continue to have assemblies and other site-based activities and meetings, please take care to follow the policies below for the sake of the students and members of our community who are highly allergic to fragrances and scents.

The SLVUSD Board of Trustees adopted a California School Board Association policy to make all district classrooms and offices fragrant neutral. BCE has parents, students, and community members with respiratory issues who can have negative reactions to fragrances. Please take care to follow the policy while on campus.

Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.
