Flexibility and Adaptability ~ As you may remember, our BCE theme this year is Flexibility and Adaptability. These are definitely skills we all need during challenging times! Over the next couple of weeks, try to look for and acknowledge times you notice your student demonstrating these important life skills. Halloween Costumes ~ I know many classes may have some Halloween have some activities planned for Halloween, please remind your student that while there may be an opportunity to dress in costume, masks cannot be worn on Zoom during learning time.
Free Washer & Dryer Access ~ Community Bridges mobile laundry trailer will offer free access to washers and dryers to households impacted by the recent fires. The trailer will be on the BCE campus again (please note date change) from November 2nd-6th. When you sign up, you are reserving a 2-hour block of time along with the use of 5 washers and dryers. SLVUSD Meals ~ USDA has extended FREE meals to all children 18 and under, through December 31, 2020!!! We want all families to know that you are not taking meals from someone who needs it more, they are for all children. You are providing meals to your students that are comforting and familiar. Another event we typically do in November is a Science Night with the San Jose Children’s Museum. Unfortunately, due to Covid, they are not going to be able to offer a virtual program and have put this program on hold until the Museum is fully operational. Box Tops: collect by purchasing select foods either cut out and save the physical box top or get the app to collect them digitally! The program is moving towards no cutting to make it even easier to raise money for the school.
Wild Roots: we earn money with every gift card purchased from them. You may buy gift cards for your own shopping needs or give them as the perfect and practical gift!
Shutterfly: Our shutterfly storefront is http://bceparentsclub.shutterflystorefront.com/ Shutterfly donated 8% of profits of all purchases back to BCE.
Amazon Smiles: simply go to smile.amazon.com and choose Boulder Creek Elementary as your beneficiary. Then, every time you shop a small amount goes to our school. You must shop Amazon Smiles for the school to benefit from your Amazon order. It is not applicable from the phone app. This past quarter we earned $288.18!
