Dear BCE Families,

Important Reminder ~ Family Conferences will begin on Monday and run through Friday November 22.   We will be on a minimum day schedule as follows: TK/Kindergarten – 3rd will be dismissed at 12:10 pm and 4th and 5th graders will be dismissed at 12:15 pm.

BCE Book Fair ~ The Book Fair will take place in our library next week during Family Conference week.  Hours are 8 am – 4 pm with the exception of Friday 11/22 when the Book Fair will close at 2:00 pm. Our book fair is the only source of funding available to our library and all profits go to purchase new books and library equipment for BCE students.  When you’re visiting campus for your student’s conference, consider stopping by for a look and perhaps even some holiday shopping!

Town Sweep ~ The Boulder Creek Town Sweep is happening this Saturday starting at 8 am and ending at noon.  Participants will meet up at the front of the empty lot between Jenna Sue's and Tres Amigos.  Any amount of time can be volunteered and all time spent helping our community will be appreciated.

We will be collecting gently used toys, books, videos, and video games; however, we do not accept clothing items.  This year we will also have a section with items suitable for children to give to adults.  Donations can be delivered to the office at Boulder Creek Elementary starting the week after Thanksgiving break.

Canned Food Drive ~ The Valley Christmas Project Canned Food Drive is up and running.  Please send in your non-perishable donations to help support families in our community.  This is a great opportunity for our children to discover the warm feeling we experience when we do good things for others.

Holiday Bazaar ~ I hope you can join me on Saturday December 7 for a Holiday Bazaar and Arts & Crafts Fair sponsored by our wonderful BCE Parent Club.  All proceeds from this event will go towards BCE’s goal of continuing our growth as a Green School. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

This is a reminder that San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District policy, as set by the Board of Trustees, declares that we are a fragrant-neutral district. As we continue to have assemblies and other site-based activities and meetings, please take care to follow the policies below for the sake of the students and members of our community who are highly allergic to fragrances and scents.

The SLVUSD Board of Trustees adopted a California School Board Association policy to make all district classrooms and offices fragrant neutral. BCE has parents, students, and community members with respiratory issues who can have negative reactions to fragrances. Please take care to follow the policy while on campus.

Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.
