Dear BCE Families,

Reminder ~ Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday.  Enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend and we’ll see you back at BCE bright and early on Tuesday!

BCE Carnival ~ Another successful Carnival and Silent Auction is behind us!  What a fun and exciting day it was.  Thank you to our families who attended the Carnival and bid on items from the Silent Auction. A big THANK YOU goes out to Kat Gafford, Salina Branson, Chrissy Dahl, Amber Jones, and all our families who donated their time and energies to working before, during and after the big day to make it such a success. A big shout out goes to our Boulder Creek Fire Department for running the BBQ station.

I am so grateful for our amazing BCE Parent Club and all the families that support us.  Your fundraising efforts provide field trips, classroom supplies and many extras that our students and staff benefit from.  Additionally, the community building that comes along with the events you sponsor is priceless. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

4TH Grade Families ~ Please click here to read an important message regarding our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for our 5th grade students.

Our District IT Director has made us aware of a Chromebook (Acer, 11-inch screen, model C732) that he would recommend.  You can find it on Amazon for about $240.

Board Briefing ~ Please click here to read the latest SLVUSD board briefing.

Band Festival ~ I'd like to invite you to the 10th Annual SLVUSD "District-Wide Band Festival" on May 28th at 7 pm in the SLVHS Gym. This is the one time during the year that you can hear the BCE, SLVE, SLVMS and SLVHS bands all in one place.  It's a fun way to celebrate how hard students worked this year as well as see the progression from elementary through high school. The event is free but donations will be accepted and there will be a $5 hotdog dinner available at 6 pm.  New this year is a silent auction that will benefit the SLVUSD Music program.

I hope you'll consider joining us for this fun evening of music!

End of year ~ As the end of the year approaches, we can feel the summer energy increase.  Please help your student make the most of these last days of school by keeping to a routine as much as possible and reminding them how important their job as a student is.

Driving on to BCE Campus ~ Due to student safety concerns, going forward only school buses, cars with handicap placards and staff members will be allowed to drive onto the BCE campus.

Need Kindergarten? ~ Kindergarten registration for Fall 2019 is open.  To begin the registration process, please plan on bringing your child’s Birth Certificate, Immunization Record and Proof of Residency.

Children must be five years old by September 1st in order to enroll in Kindergarten. If your student has a September, October or November birthday you might be interested in our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program. For more information, please call the BCE office at 831-338-6413.

We’re looking forward to your student joining our BCE learning community!

This is a reminder that San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District policy, as set by the Board of Trustees, declares that we are a fragrant-neutral district. As we continue to have assemblies and other site-based activities and meetings, please take care to follow the policies below for the sake of the students and members of our community who are highly allergic to fragrances and scents.

The SLVUSD Board of Trustees adopted a California School Board Association policy to make all district classrooms and offices fragrant neutral. BCE has parents, students, and community members with respiratory issues who can have negative reactions to fragrances. Please take care to follow the policy while on campus.

Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.
