Walk-Jog-a-Thon ~ What a beautiful day for a Walk-Jog–a-Thon! Thank you to all our volunteers who came out today to support our students and BCE!  I’d also like to send a shout out to all our BCE Bears who persevered and kept going when they got tired, showed kindness by encouraging others, and flexibility by adjusting their learning day and schedule.  Way to Go BCE!!!

Congratulations SLVMS ~ Congratulations to Shannon Calden and our own SLV Middle School!  Due to its sustained progress, SLVMS has been selected to retain its designation as a California School to Watch.  Here is a quote from State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond, which speaks to the importance of this honor.

"These middle schools make a great impact on students, and I want to thank the staff, administrators, teachers, and parents at these schools for ensuring all students get the education they need to realize their potential," Thurmond said. "These schools study and support students’ needs, which helps close achievement gaps and creates a better future for these young students."

What lucky 5th graders we have to be able to advance to such a wonderful middle school!

The BCE Way:  BE RESPECTFUL, BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE

WAIT, WAIT, DON’T STOP! PLEASE CONTINUE READING TO SEE IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND UPDATES FROM OUR AMAZING BCE PARENT CLUB!

This is a reminder that San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District policy, as set by the Board of Trustees, declares that we are a fragrant-neutral district. As we continue to have assemblies and other site-based activities and meetings, please take care to follow the policies below for the sake of the students and members of our community who are highly allergic to fragrances and scents.

The SLVUSD Board of Trustees adopted a California School Board Association policy to make all district classrooms and offices fragrant neutral. BCE has parents, students, and community members with respiratory issues who can have negative reactions to fragrances. Please take care to follow the policy while on campus.

Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.

Shop smile.amazon.com and choose Boulder Creek Elementary Parent Club as your beneficiary. Then every time you shop a small amount goes to our school. You must shop Amazon Smiles for the school to benefit from your Amazon order.  It is not applicable from the phone app. Don't forget our Shutterfly storefront  BCEParentsClub.ShutterflyStorefront.com.

We received our first check from Shutterfly for $56. Every bit helps!

Another company that has been supporting us all year is Wild Roots. When you purchase gift cards a portion of the profits go to our school. The employees also donate much needed supplies in the office such as kleenex & wipes.

There are many items that have box tops.  While it may not seem like a lot, they really add up.  All profits go to our P.E. Department, and is also used to purchase tetherballs, basketball hoops and classroom balls.
